Professional Development Workshops

Each month a practical and interactive training workshop is held at our Head Office. Each workshop is topic specific and relates to an aspect of the Kid Castle curriculum. During the workshop, the particular topic is unpacked from a theoretical perspective, with teaching tips and ideas explored, as well as potentially observing a demonstration on teaching that particular aspect of the curriculum. These workshops are not mandatory but regular attendees receive a professional development bonus of 3000 RMB for every six workshops they attend.

Follow-up Training

Toward the end of the first two months of teaching, our new teachers attend follow-up training with all teachers who began during the same orientation period. During this training, retrospective discussions are had with our training supervisor to assess how things are going within the classroom and, as importantly, outside of the classroom. It is an opportunity for teachers to discuss any classroom management related scenarios they may have come across and ways to manage these scenarios. Further lesson planning activities are conducted and discussed during this time to further help our new teachers and assess at what stage our teachers are at and where particular focus may be needed.

Visa Process

We provide ongoing support throughout the visa process so we are here for you! Before coming to China, you will need to have your authenticated degree, TEFL and criminal background check in order to obtain a Z-visa, which is the visa you will enter China on. Upon entry into China, we will assist with converting your Z visa into the work permit and the residence permit, which allow you to legally teach and live here. When it comes to dealing with the Foreign Expert Bureau in China, we have you covered with our visa team handling all interactions. Please feel free to get in touch with us should you have any concerns along the way!
